At Coastal Custom Wine Cellars, we take the planning and design phase very seriously because we want to help you build the perfect resting place for your wines. We are very happy to have created a flexible one.design wineryfor our client in Los Angeles, California to accommodate their bottles of various types and sizes and to maximize their wine storage room space.

A Flexible Warehouse Design for a Los Angeles Warehouse Project

The project began in October 2009 when the client contacted Mr. Jerry Wilson, the founder of Coastal, providing basic information on the shape and dimensions of their warehouse and the location of the warehouse door. The client wanted to maximize storage in his cellar, which was 182″ wide, 210″ deep, and 126″ tall, maintain the ideal temperature of 55 to 60 degrees Fahrenheit, and have good wine.cellar door. After an initial discussion with him about his warehouse needs, the basic design was presented to a group of experts called the Coastal CAD team. A few days later a beautiful 3D design was created and went through four revisions before it was approved by the client.

His collection ranges from splits, magnums, and champagnes, all of which fit perfectly in his custom-made wine racks. I wanted to maximize the space using the 10-foot ceiling height, so we created custom wine racks that filled the 10-foot space. We designed these wine racks to have a rail that allows the customer to use an 8 foot "library style" escalator to access wines out of normal reach.

A rolling ladder was made to reach wines stored over 8 feet at the Los Angeles, California winery.

Ideal for a smooth transition from one wall to another, the True Radius Curved Corner Shelf has been used in all four corners of the room. The lower part of the rear wall (view D) consists of rectangular-shaped openings for storing wooden boxes. In the center towards the entry is a gorgeous cascading wine rack with a table top that provides a beautiful and functional display.

It also gave the owner the opportunity to uniquely display his bottles in the middle of his large cellar.

To maximize storage capacity, a channelless partitionwine cooling systemsettled in onewine rackon the left lateral wall (view C). It is encased in a wooden grill box and a louvered deck.

HeRefrigeration systems for wineriesThe RM 6600 TE model is a product ofunited states winery. An external condenser is included, which can be placed indoors or outdoors. If the unit is installed outdoors, a protective casing is required during the winter season to prevent the refrigerant from freezing. The fan coil units are mounted on the wall or on the ceiling. The mechanical contractor supplied the wiring harness for the condenser and fan coil units. This split system is easy to install, affordable, does not create fan noise or conduct radiant heat to an adjacent room in the home, and requires less maintenance. At Coastal you can choose from three types of split refrigeration units (Link 9): Cabinet Cooler Series (CC), Rack Cooler Series (RM) or Wall Cooler Series (WC). All of these units are pressure tested by the manufacturer to ensure quality and factory wired for easy field installation.

The beautiful door to our client's wine cellar in Los Angeles, California, is an arched door with arched glass side windows and a transom that is a gorgeous focal point. The door was built with a wrought iron grille on climalit glass. Wrought iron grills can be designed and painted to best suit your desired theme and setting. Double glazing of the glass is strongly recommended for better insulation in the wine room.

Cellar air conditioning

Includes a ductless split wine cooling system covered with a grill box and louvered vent cover. All in a matching redwood heart with a clear finish. Outdoor setup requires a protective cover and if it's cold weather we highly recommend a low ambient kit. This prevents the coolant from freezing in the winter months. In the wine cellar, the fan coil units are mounted on the wall or can be embedded in the ceiling. A licensed machine builder supplies the wiring harness for the fan and condenser coils. Using a split system means no fan noise or heat is emitted into adjacent rooms and all maintenance and service can be done on site.
