Cross Country Moving Services
If you are planning to work with a cross-border mover, you will find that most national companies offer a wide range of moving services. No matter the size or complexity of your move, Great Guys connects you with movers who offer the following services to make your move across the country a breeze:
small movements
It may seem like a big hassle to move the contents of a small studio or one bedroom apartment across the country, but having the help of a moving company makes it a breeze. Most long distance movers offer a consolidated shipping option for small moves. Forwarders pick up your cargo, as well as shipments from other households, on a similar route of movement. Combining customers' belongings into a single truck makes moving their modest homes more affordable.
Moving material and shipping boxes
Get all the gear you need to prepare your home for your next move. Movers have access to premium moving products including moving boxes, bubble wrap, wrapping paper, packing wrap and more. Ask your mover if you can factor some of these packing requirements into the cost of your move.
Cross Country Möbeltransport
A professional furniture shipping company makes it easy to ship furniture across the country. Upon arrival at your home, your movers team will work to disassemble furniture that is too large or fragile to move in one piece. This service may include the dismantling of beds, sofas, tables and cupboards. They wrap each item in moving blankets to prevent damage to upholstery and other surfaces during transit. Furniture is secured in the moving truck with tie down straps and ratchet straps to ensure it is not pushed around or tipped over during the move.
Cross Country Piano Moves
Pianos are not only massive and heavy, but also incredibly fragile and prone to damage thanks to thousands of tiny parts and components. Transporting a piano on your own requires a lot of patience, skill and strength. Because these parts are so valuable (and often priceless), it's usually worth hiring a professional to do the job. Whether you need help moving an upright instrument passed down from your grandmother or a new custom grand piano, Great Guys can help you find long distance piano movers that specialize in this type of move.
car shipping
A cross-country move can cause a lot of unnecessary wear and tear on your vehicle, not to mention the expense of refueling on a long drive. Instead of driving, thousands of Americans are choosing to have their cars transported across the country with a professional auto transport service. At Great Guys you will find rates from the country's leading auto shipping companies.
Removals of apartments and apartments
No matter where your home is, whether it's a minimalist downtown loft or a luxury home in a posh suburb, the Great Guys Moving network has itmove across countryto help you get to your next location! Moving services work quickly to pack your residence, packing everything from clothes to fragile china to sporting equipment cluttering up your garage. Then they expertly load the moving truck and transport your belongings safely to your new home. Tailor the move to your needs and budget with a consolidated or expedited service.
Full-Service-Cross-Country-Mover
When moving abroad, movers have busy schedules, so it's important to have your entire home packed and ready when moving day arrives. No matter how small or large your current abode is, packing, wrapping, and wrapping anything can seem like an impossible task. Instead of tackling this step on your own, you can request a full-service move. Most interstate movers offer packing and unpacking services to streamline the moving process and minimize the work you need to do.
Moving household appliances
From refrigerators to washing machines, your home likely has several high-performance appliances that make your life more convenient. If you take these machines with you when you move, you'll be glad you let someone else do the moving. Appliances are bulky and difficult to transport, and if lifted incorrectly, they can damage your home or, worse, injure yourself or others. Device shippers across the country can ship your devices across the country in no time. They have the right gear and knowledge to safely place each piece of gear on the truck and streamline what might seem like a challenge to a layman.
Dismantling billiard tables
Pool tables require expert precision to move. Due to its weight and dimensions, it is impossible to move a pool table in one piece. To move these massive game consoles to another location, movers must disassemble the table, first carefully removing bags, rails, and felt, and then disassembling the board and frame. Moving each piece of slate requires gear and the right equipment to avoid breakage or injury. After successfully moving to a new location, workers must reassemble the table with great attention to detail. If you are looking to move a pool table to another country, we can help you find movers who specialize in moving pool tables. These movers can handle the entire process, from disassembling the table to transporting it and reassembling it in your new home.
art transportation
Whether you have oil paintings or a collection of unique sculptures, transporting your art across the country requires significant effort. Each piece must be carefully wrapped in non-acidic, non-abrasive materials and then boxed or custom-packaged to ensure protection during every step of the move. When transporting, it is important to protect artworks from temperature changes and excessive shock. It is best to transport the art in an air-conditioned vehicle with air suspension for maximum protection. Hiring a moving company that specializes in shipping and handling artworks is the best way to ensure the safety of your prized collection while moving to another country. From packaging to installation, the art movers in the Great Guys network can help with the entire moving process.

How to choose a cross-border moving company?
Hiring the right moving company is crucial to a successful move abroad. Before a moving team loads your belongings into a moving truck and leaves, make sure you've done your research! When choosing your moving company, consider the following:
- Secure:Be sure to ask the carrier what insurance coverage they offer in case something happens to your belongings in transit. Federal law requires movers to offer Released Value protection, paying at least 60 cents per pound per item. Many companies offer more comprehensive coverage with full value protection. Ask about your options to ensure your belongings have the right coverage.
- License:Van lines crossing state lines must have a valid license from the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA), a division of the U.S. Department of Transportation, FMCSA's online database. You can also find information about the company's security rating and customer complaints.
- Experience:There's a reason you trust professionals to get the job done instead of friends. A company with a decades-long track record is likely to stay in business because it educates its people and has experience and expertise in its field.
- Reviews:In the digital age, it's easy to find reviews from real customers. Visit sites like Yelp, BBB, or Consumer Affairs and read what others have to say about the company you're considering using. It's a good sign when the moving company has an excellent rating and mostly positive reviews.
- Recommendations:Do you know someone who recently made a long-distance move? Word of mouth from friends or family who had an amazing moving experience always helps!
- Additional lines:Need more than a few people to load and drive the truck? Ask what additional services (e.g. cleaning, full-service packaging, car transport, etc.) your moving company offers.
Does it feel overwhelming to hire a mover that ticks all the boxes? Do not worry! Great Guys Movers has already done the hard work of vetting movers to ensure they are licensed, insured and reputable. Get great deals for your next move in just a few minutesThe best moving companies abroad!

What should you know about international moving offers?
Start looking for moving companies at least two months before you move to another country. Booking a mover early will help you get the best rates while ensuring availability. Here are the steps to get an accurate moving quote:
- Get first estimates:Contact at least 3-4 movers to get an approximate move quote, either by phone or through the contact form. While most consumers are looking for an affordable moving company, keep in mind that a low estimate may indicate a moving scam. By filling out our 1 minute quote form, Great Guys will help you easily get quotes for up to four reputable and licensed overseas moving companies.
- Request a home visit:While the first estimate gives you a good idea of the expected moving costs, an in-house estimate gives a much more accurate picture. By law, a mover must provide an estimate on site, so don't be afraid to ask for yours! During this tour, a moving company representative will take a detailed inventory of everything you plan to move. From this, they calculate the approximate volume and weight of the shipment, which ultimately determines the cost of your move.
- Understand your quote:Once the tours are complete, get the company's final quote in writing. There are three general types of quotes, so make sure you understand what you're getting:
- Binding Quote for Moving Services: A binding quote means that you pay for the quote you originally received, regardless of whether your actual load ends up weighing more or less than the original quote.
- Binding Not-to-Exceed Quotation: A binding not-to-exceed quotation allows the Company to charge less than originally stated if the actual weight of the shipment is less than the original estimate. However, if the shipment is heavier, you only pay the original estimate. This is usually the best option for consumers.
- Non-binding offer – This type of offer allows the company to adjust the final invoice over the original offer if the shipment weighs more than estimated. In general, you should avoid moving companies that offer these types of deals.
