Can you buy a ticket on the bus in Madrid? ›

If you are visiting Andalucía as part of longer trip through the region or Spain in general, then spending time in Cordoba is a great option. However, if you only have a limited amount of time, we would recommend visiting Cordoba as a day trip from Seville and opting to spend a couple of nights in Granada instead.

I agree with Amoseli and myscreen123 that the Mezquita and Córdoba in general are better than Granada. It has a much more relaxed, authentic Spanish feel and the river, Jewish Quarter and Alcazar are all lovely. If you just want to turn up one day then you can't go wrong in Córdoba.

Córdoba has a smaller-town feel than Málaga does– overall more cozy, quaint, and picturesque, but also much more touristy. Since it's so small, it gets very crowded, especially in the afternoons and evenings.

Both of these cities are home to monuments from Andalusia's Moorish and Christian periods, but in Cordoba you can also view Roman remains, giving it an historical edge over Seville.

What food is Cordoba famous for? A few local specialties you'll want to try in Cordoba are salmorejo (chilled tomato soup), rabo de toro (bull tail stew), and berenjenas fritas con miel (fried eggplants with molasses). Be sure to drink some of the local Montilla-Moriles wine, too!
